Raja Ampat Logistics & Itineraries: Exploring Indonesia’s Diving Jewel

Introduction: A Journey Through Indonesia’s Diving Heart

Raja Ampat sits at the epicentre of global marine biodiversity — a dream destination for divers who want it all: thrilling drift dives, untouched coral gardens, and rich cultural encounters.

Our liveaboard itineraries are carefully designed to make the most of this extraordinary region. While no two voyages are ever exactly the same—routes adapt to weather, sea conditions, and diver experience—we follow an 11-day example itinerary that blends Central and Southern Raja Ampat for a truly complete diving journey.

1. Starting & Ending in Waisai

All our Raja Ampat liveaboard trips begin and end in Waisai, a small port town located on Waigeo Island. Guests typically fly to Sorong (SOQ), then transfer by fast ferry (approx. 2 hours) to Waisai, where our crew will welcome you aboard Kira Kira or Akomo Isseki.

This embarkation point allows us to maximize dive time and seamlessly access both the central Dampier Strait and the remote Misool region without backtracking.

✈️ Tip: Book flights to arrive in Sorong the day before departure for a relaxed start to your adventure.

2. Example 11-Day Liveaboard Itinerary

Here’s an example of what a central and southern Raja Ampat route can include. Remember — each journey is unique and may change based on local conditions to give you the best possible dives.

  • Friwin, Mioskon, Blue Magic, Chicken Reef — stunning soft corals, schooling fish, and your check dive.

  • Yanbuba Village & Arborek Jetty — see trevally hunts, mantas circling cleaning stations, and vibrant local culture.

  • Lalosi Reef — macro species and walking sharks.

📍 Days 4–7: Southern Raja Ampat – Misool

  • East Misool (No Contest, Love Potion, Three Rocks) — vertical walls and soft coral gardens.

  • Fiabacet, Fantasea, Boo Rocks — famous swim-throughs and colourful lava formations.
